Vaccine Hunters Canada plans to automate operations and will consolidate services into its free multilingual self-serve tool Find Your Immunization (FYI), appointments.vaccinehunters.ca and website, vaccinehunters.ca. The volunteer organization will complete the pivot to self-serve tools, and will post the final updates to all social channels on August 31st, 2021.
Since March 2021, Vaccine Hunters Canada has offered Canadians vaccine-related information and support on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and Discord. The transition to automated operations and consolidated services will mean that its volunteer-staffed channels will be inactive.
Launched on June 18th, 2021 FYI facilitates and simplifies the process of booking a vaccine. The online tool has already had over two million unique searches. It requires only a postal code, and includes all information posted to their other channels. The Vaccine Hunters Canada website will include self-serve resources for pharmacists, clinic organizers and the public. The website will supply key learnings and information on a variety of topics, including how to maximize turnout for vaccine clinics, how to effectively reach the public, and general booking guidelines.
“We are leveraging the power of FYI to automate many of the functions that were done by our amazing team who are all volunteers. We will continue to support Canadians with the best possible tools and resources,” says Andrew Young, Founder and a Director of Vaccine Hunters Canada.
Mr. Young continued, “Ever since I started Vaccine Hunters Canada, we’ve been listening, learning, watching, and understanding the needs of the country. Our team developed FYI in order to simplify the vaccine booking process. It is our way of saying thank you and to make sure Canadians are well taken care of.”
Today Vaccine Hunters Canada will kick off a month-long social media campaign, called #VaxtotheMax, asking Canadians to help them fulfill their mission and make history together by getting more people vaccinated.
Director Sabrina Craig adds, “Vaccines are delivered one person at a time and we thank each and every Vaccine Hunters Canada volunteer who gave their time, effort and amazing energy to find vaccines for Canadians. Now we hope that Canadians will find vaccines for those who are remaining and contribute to Canada’s vaccine goal.”
Vaccine Hunters Canada was founded because of a mission to connect eligible Canadians with vaccination appointments and get more shots in arms. After six months, the group has grown to include over 100 devoted volunteers from coast to coast to coast, who’ve worked tirelessly to provide answers, information and support to all Canadians. They’ve amassed an enormous and loyal following on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and Discord, who’ve supported and encouraged them every step of the way. Vaccine Hunters Canada is grateful to all their partners, collaborators, supporters and followers who have joined them on this journey.
