Vaccine Hunters Canada is excited to share that they plan to resume posting to their Twitter and Facebook accounts to help Canadians navigate the expanded vaccine eligibility for children between 5-11 years old, and for booster shots.
Vaccine Hunters Canada's Twitter and Facebook accounts will be temporarily re-activated, where they will share important vaccine-related information. Their existing self-serve resources, Find Your Immunization (FYI), DIY, and SOS, all available at vaccinehunters.ca, will remain active as additional resources for those who need help finding a vaccine.
In addition to the reboot, the organization will also be partnering with University Health Network's (UHN) Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine which is a leading voice for social medicine in Canada. Vaccine Hunters Canada and Centre for Social Medicine's partnership will focus on further developing digital tools that will improve access to COVID-19 vaccines, and providing informational resources and support to those who need it most. Vaccine Hunters Canada's tool, Find Your Immunization (FYI), will help the centre continue to bridge gaps in the current healthcare system by working closely with community partners coast-to-coast-to-coast to make resources more accessible for Canadians.
Andrew Young, Founder and Director of Vaccine Hunters Canada, says, "We are thrilled to come back and help even more Canadians get vaccinated, especially to do so alongside the Centre for Social Medicine. They are the perfect partner as they are embedded in a hospital network, and have partnerships with organizations across the country - so we can be connected directly to the people who may need help finding vaccines."
Dr. Andrew Boozary, Executive Director of the University Health Network's (UHN) Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine, says, "We've learned a lot throughout this pandemic. With such long standing health inequities, every part of our system needs to pull together to prioritize families and communities that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19."
